Your profile just says Midwest so I'm not sue what state you are
from. In Illinois we have a formula that determines property tax
on farmland which includes prices, soil types etc. Land sales are
only a fraction of it. Increases and decreases are limited to 10%
per year. We are fairly fortunate in this area I think.
