Is it really the kids dream or daddy living out his dream thru his idiot kid, kinda like HS sports. I have said many times on this site that we have so many kids that are just shine boys (dummies that shine up tractors and combines in grandpa or daddies new shop) for their daddys, they have no management skills or experience. Operating money can easily add up to a million dollars. What is going to happen when daddy dies at 80 and the kid has no skills. Probably have a "changing the operation sale". Maybe they will have enough equity to burn that they can gracefully retire.
Ya, or some of them step up to the plate and really roll. Either way, (and not to single you out) there is way to much emphasis placed on the 'what if's' of other's operations on this site. It is their operation. If they want to pay too much for ground so they can wrap it up with a bow and give it to Junior, so be it. It is their money to play with. |
