Southeast Iowa | I am in a tough situation where I want to return home and farm after I graduate from college, however I am not sure that is an option right away. I wouldn't hesitate to take a part time job and help on our family farm instead of taking a higher paying full time position away from home. Right now I know I can't afford to buy/rent anything on my own, and I still have to pay off my college debt. I have one year left of school still but I am trying to think ahead and try to get an idea of what would be best for me to get my foot in the door on our family farm. I don't expect anything to just be given to me and want to work and earn everything the way all the older generations have. Just wondering if anyone has been in this situation and what you did to get started. TIA | |
