Jim I am sorry the kids are not having great positive experiences with the sheep. Reality is that lambing is tough and lambs die. I still take it rather personally when I lose one and have been doing it for 20 years. I remember the first lambs I sold at auction I nearly cried.

My first group of ewe I bought were nice middle aged ewes already bred from a established commercial flock. I learned with these. Those girls knew their job well. Hopefully things improve.

There are not many life lessons that life with livestock does not teach. The kids will grow up learning a ton that will benefit them forever. With a few tears shed knowing how tough it can be makes the good things all that more appreciated. Life should be cherished and not taken for granted
