Subject: alfalfa interseeded with corn?

jackson county WI
Wasn't sure if this belonged in this or crop forum but a lot guys in here growing alfalfa. Was reading hay and forage magazine and see that guys are planting alfalfa with corn. Seems like a good way to have a established stand going into the next year, my concern is it seem like its gonna take a lot of fert to get both to produce well and not work against each other throughout the year, herbicide and insecticide would be another concern, but maybe if a guy hit it with something for insects when corn was knee high or so? Would the alfalfa do ok after corn had it shaded out and not much air movement? Was considering trying this on a small 8 acre field and chopping corn for silage thus stalks would not be a Hassel for harvesting the hay. Maybe dumb idea and would like to hear opinions but I just hate seeding ground down and not getting to harvest anything for a year, seems like every time I put oats with my seeding they blow down and smother the new seeding
