| After staggering losses the past few years and every waking moment spent on trying to squeak by in business, you think guys just sit back and take their chances on the markets?
Maybe the ethanol gang does that to an extent, but then again their whole industry tanked once because they were such good traders.
In livestock there is hedging hedging and more hedging. In fact many won't realize much of the high price PED will cause in hogs this summer because prices were locked in long ago. I'm not sure about other livestock, but it doesn't sound like they are in a position to just sit back and buy feed stuffs when they get around to it. I honestly do not know what that looks like in the market or if it has any effect at all. | |
