There is a company that is working on a large corn burner that you will be able to use for drying grain however at 4 million btu's it seems large but not anywhere large enough for a lot of grain dryers. The dryer I have is not extremely large but yet I burn 120 gallons of LP per hour which is pretty close to 11 million it is not big enough for a lot of dryers plus the cost to get it setup is pro ally cost probative it would seem to me that if an alternate energy source could be tied in to existing dryer would be the answer. Something that could maybe provide 40/50 percent of btu's by preheating incoming air. If lp doesn't come down to historical average price, I can envision a lot of these kind of devices being created |
