| There a lot of unknowns here so it's dangerous to speculate but that has never stopped many on this board.
I wouldn't throw the agent under the bus on a seed corn claim, would highly doubt it's his error.
The yield and history (guarantee) information is tightly held by the seed company and state RMA offices.
Here is one scenario.
Let's say the company mistakenly worked the claim as a regular corn claim rather than a seed corn claim.
Yield could have been great for seed corn but terrible for regular corn.
Seems unlikely but stranger things have happened.
Could be as simple as a data entry error, too.
To the OP,
Didn't it seem like a lot of money when you put it all together?
Also, might the seed company have had the crop insured?
Very curious to hear what actually happened.
Remember, claims are subject to review and audit for three years.
And if you have been overpaid it will have to be returned. | |
