SW MN | I talked with a merchandiser (who has a large trade area) after the close on Friday. He said selling had picked up noticeably this week, biggest days were Monday and Tuesday. He tempered it by saying that when you are comparing to virtually nil for sales previously, anything looks big. Also commented that a fair amount of basis contracts were written. I think they widened 4 cents on corn for the week. It will be interesting to see the COT report. Everything I heard and read through Thursday said the index funds were buying in a big way, other funds were still adding shorts. But something definitely tempered market reaction. | |
