That thermometer has horrible reviews.
If you're on the market for one, consider a wireless thermometer if it's not much more expensive: The wired probes go a wireless repeater, so you can read the temperatures from anywhere in the kitchen, like your prep area, or maybe even further away. I don't have one, so I don't know how far you can read it, but it seems much more convenient.
