Mapping is not required. But, you do have to keep track where the refuge and the bio ia planted within each unit. What I was saying above. a mapping program may be helpful if it will do this for you. I'm not that familiar with those.

If a unit of corn fails the BYE test, you DO lose ALL corn coverage in THAT county and have to pay 20% of the premium. So, the above scenerio is really important. You want to be real sure if there is an audit that you get that adjuster into the BYE and not the refuge. It is the producer's responsibility, not the adjuster's. He doesn't know. So, unlike a hail claim when an adjuster comes, don't just tell him to go to the dirt lane down the road and go to the first corn field on the left after he turns south and goes around 3 curves.

The adjuster (at this time) is going to pull 10 leaves from the unit. The leaves will probably the leaf just above the ear. These will be mailed to a certified lab for testing. They will pull out 3 leaves. If 2 leaves pass you are home free. If 2 of the 3 fail, see paragraph #2. They will NOT pull oyt another three of the 10 and try again.
