Call you doctor first AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!....Worry about the kids first...And call a vet.....Get that cat to a vet asap . maybe kids wont have to get shots if it proves to be non rabid?Call a pro that knows how to handle rabies as soon as possible. RABIES= BAD/and Death.....So don't wait around.
