| I think you'll find a vast majority of the hogs being contract raised are owned by companies that own the hogs from birth till they hit the grocery store so when feed prices get high they can absorb that cost into the profit from the finished product. As feed prices have risen over the past year or so building costs have also gone way up so it's not like they have been able to change the contracts much to take some of the profit away from the farmers.
