In parts of Ontario now 100 acres with a 10 year old finishing barn will sell for less than 100 bare acres next door because nobody wants the barn and they'll have to either keep paying the taxes on an empty barn or tear it down.
Pretty well-sourced rumour here has it that one of the big sow barns is drowning all the newborns, they're losing less money that way.
