On another forum was a pic of harvesting corn, buckboard wagon and 2 mules.

I got to thinking, that is how grandpa harvested on this century plus 15 year farm. Back then 1/2 was wet meadow hay, lot of small grains, flax, and a little bit of corn, without hybrids or fertilizer wonder if he got 5-6 small buckboard lads of ear corn?

Dad added tile, and hybrid corn came along, but he limited his corn acres to what fit in the crib, so maybe 40-60 wagons of ear corn.

Here I am, only a couple more acres, but 2/3 corn acres, more tile, 2/3 higher plant population, better hybrids, lot more fertilizer variable placed with some micros, and I'm getting over 6 times as much corn as dad did, and 46 times as much corn as grandpa must have.

Time does go by. ;)
