I will give a example one guy just 2 years ago asked if $150 could even get a corn crop in anymore. That's all I am saying. Not a knock on anyone it's just got to where its such a different cost per acre that you lose track of it all. Bingo....exactly someone that understands what I am talking about. I am not talking 80's interest or Ron Reagan, the depression etc. It's the guy that bought a new tractor for $20,000 now it's $100,000 and that old seed corn is $300 and I used to get a whole bushel for $40. That potash used to be $45 ton what do you mean it's $500. Yep, inflation calculator is something more people should use. My grandpa fit all of this stuff to a T, but he bought a brand new 715 combine in 1974 for $28,000. $132,000 is the equivelant of that today. Anybody think $132k for a 715 gas with 4 row head would be a bargain today? |
