Subject: RE: The Great Depression mentality.

+1 on The Great Depression Mentality. When I was a kid, I delivered a deep-freeze hog to my great aunt and uncle who were very well-off, but grew up very poor during the depression. They were putting the hog in their freezer when they noticed the head was in one package (instead of two, like they had ordered it) and begin to argue about who was going to cook the hog head. I stood there wondering to myself how multi-millionaires could argue over a hog head. The funniest part was when I called my dad and told him he said “Oh sh*t, I forgot to tell them to split the head”.
My great aunt and uncle were the kind who didn’t waste anything (i.e. Great Depression Mentality). They did finally come to an agreement on how they were going to cook the hog head (but it was serious business to them).
