I've only had the privilege of removing the plastic a couple times, but my philosophy is that we buy equipment to use. By the time we are fed up with it and ready to upgrade.....the condition of the seat is the least of the potential new owners' worries if you catch my drift.
If you want to keep it museum quality.....it's a free country. But there ain't enough Gold Bond powder in the state to keep me sitting on plastic for 12 hours a day......... :-)
