Columbia Basin, Ephrata, WA | My 2007 Claas 850 with ~2,000 hours that was traded last fall still had the plastic on the seat back. Same with the 2003 JD 7500 with 1650 hours that I traded for the Claas in 2008. The seat bottom plastic was taken off right away, but I like keeping it on the back. It made it easier to see if spider mites were making their way up the seat and brush them off if they were.
The plastic came off the seat on the new Steiger we got in Feb. It's going to be here a long time and has leather so hopefully it won't be too hard to keep clean. We also pulled out the floor carpet and cardboard covering it.
