Subject: Re: alfalfa with wheat

NW Central Ohio
...in Ohio, when trying to clear stand alfalfa...minimum recommeded rate is about 12 lbs. I know some guys who seed over 20 lb./acre. I would use a little more seed than you are using if you're going after a long term hay crop. If you put it in with a drill with a seperate seeder box...maybe pull the hoses off like suggested above. If you don't have a seperate box...why not broadcast it with your fertilizer before the wheat..and let the drill work it in a little? (Assuming you don't have a hoe drill/seeder)
