I think it is whatever time you choose, for whatever reason that may be. You are the one doing it, not your neighbors, and not anybody on an Internet site. Personally I am supposed to start march 10 this year. Cows are not priority #1 on this farm, behind crops and feeder cattle, and that calving time works out about the best for me considering the afore mentioned.
