Nebraska Panhandle | It's all about other work for us. We don't just have a busy spring and fall season for the farming. We have other small grains that take a lot of time in the summer. We start Feb 15. Most of the calving is done by time things start thawing and getting rainy. I'll take a snow storm and frozen ground over rain and mud any day of the week. I can save a cold calf, but we struggle with wet and cold. Biggest trick for us is getting them out of the wind. | |
