How important is ISO 11783 standard to you?

That guy makes some good points.  I wonder if agricultural GPS applications are too vertical to go like the horizontal spreadsheet wars did...........................VisaCalc was first then Lotus overtook them and imported VisaCalc files.  Then Excel came along and imported Lotus files.  Now other companies are importing Excel files.........and come to think of it most of them import and export other formats as well. 

Just as importing and exporting data is important for spreadsheets today perhaps one day lat, long, value, value, will be an important item for what ever protocol is used.  Even though it might have some proprietary processes....in the end perhaps one fine day we can import and export data into and out of one's system of choice.
