If 2500 people attend the church most likely there are 1 or more lawyers in the congregation.   If that is the case they will have free legal representation.   Might not be a good direction to go.  A meeting with them conducted in a civil manner might bear more fruit.  Go into the meeting with the attitude that they want to do the right thing.
