I have certainly never been close to 47000 acres, but during a period of very aggresive expansion on my farm...the rumours were hilarioous.
People would GUARANTEE that they were true as well. Everybody had a 'good' source and was 100% sure they had the facts.
I am not like most on this board as I can empathize with guys who get caught up in the rumour mill.
The vast majority of it is jealousy IMHO.
