Central Illinois
I couldn't be farming today if it wasn't for a good friend and co-worker that would work for free. Dad passed away unexpectedly 10 years ago. He farmed full time, but was not one to spend money on repairs until the machine would not work anymore. Worked for him I guess as he had time to fix as he went along. My co-worker and I have full time and part time jobs in town. Down time hurts a little more as you only have so many vacation days and evening hours. There was no way I could have made all the repairs myself or pay shop rates for all of the things we had to do. I could never pay him what he is worth. He used alot of vacation doing dirty jobs Mike Rowe wouldn't do. He can also see what needs to be done and does it. I tell him as often I can how much it has meant to me. Thanks, Jon!
