| For the record, I agree with you. However, it seems obvious to me that the other party wanted you to pay for 1/2 of all three fill ups so I would have just paid it. A smarter move would have been to give your daughter $50 and tell her to pay for 1/2 at each fill up and buy her own lunch. I will also say that if I was on the other side I would have just let your daughter ride along if I was going anyway. Nobody ever got ahead treating people like they are. You never know when you will walk into a job interview and see someone you screwed in the past...
I do hope when you gave the lady the money you said something like "It seems to me your making a big deal over $20 so money must be real tight. I'll just pay for it all....."
