Triticale makes good feed. Several years ago it was popular to seed a mixture of it and field peas; the theory being that the peas would add a little nitrogen. It may have helped, but it was more difficult to mow and the peas could wrap up the conditioner rolls. If you get enough moisture it will make very early feed.
