Michigan.
Now that Blueberry Harvest is over I got some time to tinker with the Foodsaver Vac sealer. Ended up getting the 3860.

Call me impressed. Very well made and thought out.

First thing to get tried was a 8lb bag of AP flour. Fits inside a 11" bag that is cut approx 5" longer than the flour bag, and sucked the thing down untill it was compressed like a brick.
I dunno if I wanted that much vaccum, but dangit, it's impressive! I'll use the manual setting next time I guess.

Next up was a couple Green peppers I diced up. It's Pepper harvest time around here, and by this weekend I'll be up to my keester in the things so I'll be using the new toy for freezing a couple hundred.
I used the "Wet" setting on the machine, and it did everything it was supposed to without a hitch.

I hope the MIL is happy with hers, cuz I'm going to be tinkering with ours all weekend.
The Vaccum Marinade accessory is looking like it could be fun to play with.

Thanks again for all the input and insight gang!!
