Northeast, NE | Agree that adding a continental breed increases heterosis and that you could lose uniformity going further out, but my point is that just because a cow is bwf doesn't necessarily mean it is a crossbred. So in reality your "third" breed is really the second depending on how long ago the white face came into the breeding. White faces and spots are very dominant and can survive a lot of generations. I have one cow that is approx. 31/32 angus (mom is angus and dad is 15/16 red angus) and she came out with the most beautiful black and white old fashioned simmental markings.
