$272 is a lot for just map on 88 acres i think. Now if this is a 2 year program and this includes MAP and MOP or Nitrogen that's a different story. Like tj said, if it's 88 acres and $272 an acre for just MAP i'd be mad as well.

As far as rain providing nutrients i'd say no but there is an essential nutrients that comes from water so i guess he is right. Corn requires 17 essential nutrients and the Hydrogen comes from water, someone correct me if i'm wrong.

Rain isn't a substitute for fertility but fertility isn't always useable if you don't have rain. Got to think back to essential nutrient barrel, if plant is short on Hydrogen then all the P in the world is useless, so everything else.
