Subject: Re: Moving Concrete Bin Pad

West Central Alberta Coldest, wettest edge
I have a similar challenge. If I can move them, I can have 3 different 19 foot concrete bin floors. At about 8" deep, they would weigh over 30000 lb. One is within 8 miles(gravel roads all the way), two are much further. Has anyone tried moving them before? Anyone know how much reinforcement they would contain? If a crane were to pick up one side, would they just break?

As for the bin pad, what have you got to lose, I'd try Badgers cable idea, plus maybe a dozer or two on the rear.If they were well reinforced it should work. I don't know how they would get the base level underneath of it again though, but leave that to the experts if they say it is possible.
