The compressor on our 1770 is mounted on the tounge by the hitch. There's an air line that goes into the cab that has the air filter on it. That way it's kept out of the dust outside. The tank is located on the back of the planter behind one of the CCS tanks. I think this is how they're doing this on the newer planters.
