Southwest Oklahoma | There is a lot of money collected in the name of beef promotion that gets spent by the NCBA for their operating expenses. Wasn't it just last year that the folks at NCBA had to repay $217,000 of checkoff dollars after an audit uncovered numerous misuses, including paying for a spouses trip to New Zealand. I really don't like going to a farm show and seeing a booth there promoting beef, seems like they are trying to convince me they're working hard for me. I don't mind paying for beef promotion but when NCBA uses the money from my paycheck to subsidize a charity golf tournament that commemorates NCBA'S cancer victims I think I have every right to not want them administering beef promotion. | |
