sw minnesota | Thanks for the answers Jim, I totally understand the high moisture corn deal, i have the expense of harvesting it but I leave it high moisture for the cattle and that in itself is a huge gain. Say your corn is 24% and the elevator chargesat least 5 cents per point for drying, and then shrinks 1.5% instead of the real 1.1%, on 200 bushel they shrunk it an extra 3.6 percent or 7.2 bushel an acre, and took $.45 for drying. $1200 revenue supposedly but only end up with $1070 and im sure at least another $30 for harvest, down to $1040, so right off the bat you are $160 an acre ahead, keep posting it was good to meet you as well. | |
