You must be counting a fair amount of feed gained from the pasture, otherwise, with really good feed conversion it's 8+ bu of corn, 100 lb of SBM and 65 lb of DDG's or so. Just the 8 bu at today's "oppurtunity cost" here = $50 per pig. Plus you need to grind and mix this stuff.

I would be very willing to bet your pasture doesn't go for $12-20,000 per acre. And we raise hogs year round here. Otherwise, what fun would that be ? :)
