Saskatchewan, big whitetail country!!!

Oliver1 - 2/29/2012 03:22 Very rough numbers, done in late Jan $16 for barn space and labor $65 for iso wean $100 for feed $7 because some of them decide to die. ~$12 for other stuff, vet, marketing, trucking, etc. $200 to raise a pig In late Jan you maybe had $5 profit left. Barn space is cheap, feed and losing expensive pigs isn't. Focus on the big numbers and you'll see why people want barns that keep pigs warm, healthy and gaining. If it was easy, everybody'd be doin it............

My feed at opp cost would be about 40-50 bucks, they would be out on pasture for the summer, no barn costs. And most importantly they would be sold locally for 3-4 bucks a pound. Hanging on the hook.
