Waupun, Wi | Just sold my first loads of contracted cattle this week . Noticed that my hanging weights are alot lower than what i beieve they should have been. Our packers trimming more fat from these cattle because the contract price is higher than cash and they currently have negative margins? Also does this make more sense for them because of the hamburger scenario? Cattle diets have been the same as in the past did have different implants this time around but nothing to account for a loss of 150 lbs on the hoof. Anyone else experiencing similiar findings? If so is this ethical? | |
