West Central Missouri
We are of the opinion it never hurts to mention it to someone that you are interested in renting or farming their ground. After that do a good job on what you have. On the ground you do rent NEVER make a payment late. Treat rented ground as good if not better than your own in regards to fertility, mowing, rotation etc. Communicate with landlords, "while you never know what they are thinking at the other end of the field" if your current landlords are happy that is all the advertising you need. Keep margins good on the ground you have and more will come around in time. I realize it is hard to be patient on land could be why so guys are paying what they are for rent.
