Define a reasonable price. Cash rent = $100 net per acre? That is what we hoped for 5 years ago ($100 net). That would mean you would be paying $500 cash rent. Either that or you would be someone looking to cheat a landlord and pay then 30 cents on the dollar?

For me...I have 2 kids that want to farm and I need more land for that reason. I will get it however I have to but keep in mind I will never loose sight of my profitability and my ablility to manage my risk! Hate me if you want but I will get more land. I also understand that I will loose some of my land in time. It is ALL business. Walmart looses customer every day but they don't cry to Target about it. Guess what, Target doesn't care! Target was the one that secured the customer from Walmart.
