Kaukauna WI | The land was in our family for over 100 years. We are renting it from my siblings. It was their inheritance. When my folks died, no one in our family was involved in farming, so they rented it to a neighbor, for 20 years or so. Meanwhile, we started farming on our own in the 90's, and are buying all our corn, and I asked my sister if we could rent that piece next year. I asked her in February, 2011. It was up to her and the rest of my sibs what to do. It is for even money. They decided to rent it to us. They could have said no. I thought there is no harm in asking. Were we wrong? | |
