Subject: Making coffee taste good

NW Illinois
This is an odd question, but when I make coffee at home it doenst seem to taste as good as when I go to a local diner and drink theirs. The coffee maker I have at home is probebly 5 years old but still makes coffee. I use Folgers or Mawell House Coffee grounds. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions on how to make my coffee taste better. I guess I just want to know how the local diners do it. I use a table spoon per cup of coffee. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks
