| Dr Nancy Snyderman (NBC) explained that parents that do not have their children vaccinated are putting the rest of the population at risk. An unvaccinated individual allows the pathagen to biuld up and exposes people who have compromised immune system(elderly, cancer patients, children who's immunity "wore off") to the diesease, they then become very ill. She calls it the "herd immunity" affect. If the entire herd has some immunity, the diesease has little impact. A few non vaccinated individuals allow the disease to get started.
