Almond Wisconsin | Dang it did turn into a ford vs Chevy. But Tom cats question is about Steigers. I don't know his operation but am a big believer in the older Versy's and Steigers makeing money for certain operations. They were well built and when well maintained and priced right they are both able to pull hard for the dollar. My choice was PTA Steigers with 855 cummins or 3406 Cats and regular axle maintenance. I have a 1981 pta 280 that we bought new and have over 10,000hrs on with little downtime. I later added a PTA 325 with recent major work from a auction and have run the heck out of it for three years with no expense. | |
