Brazilton KS

They were tough tractors...the "sheetmetal" was 1/4" plate. The cabs were extremely quiet for the era.  Controls were functional, but rudimentary. The exhaust was extremely loud. The transmissions were basically truck transmissions...nothing handy or nice about it, but they generally worked. Hydraulics were basic gear pump. Parts availability should be good...either through truck parts outlets, CIH, or aftermarket places like Big Tractor Parts.

The Steiger was considerably heavier and stronger then a similar Versatile. The Versatile transmission, in my opinion, was proven more reliable then the truck trans Steiger used. Steiger also offered an Allison automatic. I have seen those tractors selling crazy high lately. There isn't really anything like them out there except for late model Bell scraper tractors.
