Subject: Any negatives to banding P&K?

Central Iowa
I have been considering going to banding P&K. My main interest is on rented land and less productive soils. I would like to ensure the best bang for my buck on rented land without having to build reserves by broadcasting that I may not get benefit from down the road. My big question is on my other ground where fertility is good are there any negatives to switching to banding versus my current broadcast program? I understand land with good fertility will most likely not see a positive response to the banding but I don't want to take a step backwards by altering the current high level of soil biology. I should add that fertilizer apps would be made via striptill so utilizing the fertilizer application while making the strips makes sense.
