After rebuilding, and rebuilding, and rebuilding 144A's, I got some Tee Jet rotary ball valves. Life is good now.


I would agree completely. After rebuilding literally hundreds of them through my career at work I always advise going to electric ball valves. They are a bit more spendy at first but well worth the cost in the long run.

We have had great success with the Banjo brand but other brands work also.

Cleaning up the armature may allow you to get by for a while. The real problem is that when a one is only partially open that section may be receiving less than its share of product. Unless you are watching carefully you may not be aware of this.

Checking the electrical system and connections is a good idea. When cycling all three on at the same time much energy is required.

Most electric ball valves have a visual indicator showing the position they are in.
