S.E. Iowa
We had 20yr Crp we tool out 2 years ago Planted beens no till had decent crop in places and so so in others. Crop went 25 - 55 bushels. Ground could have benefitted from more P and K applied. While hard to turn your back on $9-10 beans Hindsight tells me we might have been better off to have maintained the Brome grass we had and inter seeded Alfalfa and clover . In our case Long term I think we will have more profit per acre in pasture and hay ground than in row crops on what was marginal ground anyway. This year we are reseeding much of it and only cropping the best parts.
