nw pa | local university used to plant a replicated plot every year . The best corn was usually 20 bu better than the poor. Had a field day each year at harvest so farmers could look it over and see what was doing the best. Farmers always were bad mouthing every thing but the highest yielders even though the poorest was better than their farm average. The lesson learned was any one of the corns planted would do better with better mangement and until the farm average was higher than the plot it didn't matter what you planted. Something else was the limiting factor. | |
