C IL | I am an older millennial, and HR is a 4 letter word. First too stuck in old corporate power culture, then too overwhelmed by online applications, and now too untimely and unserious for the quality candidate. They wont just say if the position is filled or have realistic timelines for communication. How hard is it to send an email blast to all applicants that the position is filled, or pick up the phone and email a finalist candidate.
They unfortunately seem to deserve being ghosted for interviews and even job offers. Not really but the corporate response to the karmic return behavior is telling.
In my time looking for my real internships or jobs after school, I only ever met one recruiter who acted professionally and followed up what I thought was responsibly.
What I can say is, this behavior is a sign about the potential employer, and maybe your kid should take it as such. |
